Umbria… Food and Wine Tour in the green heart of Italy

Arrival at Abbazia di Collemedio**** Resort and Spa, a green place surrouded by a big park of 5h, to enjoy of a real relaxing holiday. Rich aperitif with wine and traditional local foods. Overnight stay.

Breakfast in the Resort before departure with your own car to Gubbio passing through the marvellous panoramic views of the Eugubina regional road until Gubbio medieval village. In this old town, you could admire its many little streets and its panoramic corners. To see: San Francesco Church and Piazza Grande where Palazzo dei Consoli stands. Short transfer by car to the typical “trattoria” specialized in “torta al testo” that you tested with many stuffings in combination with a 1st Umbrian dish. In the afternoon, you will go in an exclusive wine farm realized inside a modern artwork named “Carapace” tradition, taste, quality and modernness. A guided tour and tasting of 4 different wines as: Montefalco Rosso doc e doc Riserva, Montefalco Sagrantino Docg e Montefalco Sagrantino Passito with some appetizers. At the end, if you still have time, you should make a short walking in the nice medieval village of Bevagna. Back to the Resort and overnight stay.

Breakfast in the Resort before departure with your car to Spello a village with roman and medieval evidences. You could admire the historical buildings has: Palazzo Baglioni, Palazzo Comunale e Palazzo Cruciani, the Properzio Towers, the roman arc and walls. Moreover many historical Churches, in one of them the famous Baglioni Chapel with the Pinturicchio Frescoes. Short transfer to the Rasiglia village, a place “lost in the time”, everything here is based on water…an old water-mill a fulling mill and its little houses and bridges; you will live in a “fairy tale”. Lunch in a little restaurant where you could enjoy to taste the Umbrian truffle and other typical goodies. In the afternoon a walking in Spoleto a medieval town, to see its squares, alleys, the Dome and the typical shops. On the way back to the hotel, a stop in a olive oil mill to visit and taste the precious Umbrian oil. Overnight stay in the Resort.

Breakfast in the Resort and departure with your car to the lake. Following the lake promenade you have to stop in Passignano sul Trasimeno with its small port (the “Porticciolo”), the artistic park Campo del Sole and its Castle. After in 15 minutes by car you will arrive to Castiglione del Lago, that village is a part of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia”, the medieval town includes in itself the Fortress and Palazzo della Corgna. The old town overlooking the lake. To well finish the tour, a tasting lunch with the fisherman dish and the lake 1st dish. End of services.
