Gioachino Rossini (Pesaro, 29 February 1792 – Passy, ​​Paris 13 November 1868)

Pesaro has been defined “City of the Music” thanks to his famous citizen, the great Opera composer Gioachino Rossini’s . His operas represents the heredity left to his hometown and the opportunity for a touristic and economic development of the town.

In 2018 occur the 150th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini’s death, the city has therefore thought of a project to celebrate the centenary with the aim of promoting the memory of this universal genius, through his works and his life.

Designed in view of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death (1868/2018), the celebration wants to have an international profile – promoting Rossini as a testimonial of Italian beauty in the world – and cover a period of time up to 2019.
