Montefeltro tour

1st day: Visit of San Leo and the mistery of Cagliostro, charming village placed on an imposing rock, accessible through a road that cut into the rock. The visit will make you discover the history of the village and its famous Fort, in which it was imprisoned Giuseppe Balsamo, known as Cagliostro, alchemist and magician, accused in the 1971 of heresy by the Catholic Church.  You will also visit the beautiful Romanesque Pieve and the Bell Tower.

2nd day:The villages of Montefeltro: Frontino, in the heart of Montefeltro, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and  Orange flag, you will see the convent of Montefiorentino, one of the most important Franciscan monasteries of Le Marche, and the Oliva Chapel, the host a masterpiece of Giovanni Santi. Lunch with tasting of the local Carpegna ham, short transfer to Sassocorvaro and visit of the “Rocca Ubaldinesca”, a singular structure that during the Second World War hosted, together with the Paalazzo dei Principi of Carpegna, masterpieces coming from the most important cultural sites of Marche region and Northern Italy. Back to Carpegna to visit the Palazzo dei Principi, a beautiful 17th century residence.

3rd day: Visit of Sasso Simone and Simoncello Park that offers unique views of Marche, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna regions, its beautiful landscapes were background of some of the most important paints of Piero della Francesca and Leonardo da Vinci. Visit of Pennabilli, charming village of Montefeltro area, famous as hometown of the poet Tonino Guerra. You will walk through the village, you will follow the poetic path and admire the ruins of the castles of the Penna family and of the Billi family, from which derives the name of the village. Taste of the local Fossa cheese in Talamello.
