Discover Metauro Valley

Le Marche region is characterised by a wilde and intact nature, breathtaking landscapes of great beauty, in particular the Metauro valley and its river, the longest of Le Marche 110 km, offer suggestive glimps and many opportunities of practising open-air activities such as: trekking, canoa , hiking, bike itineraries and walking.
At the mouth fo Metauro river has been built Fano, an ancient Roman town “Fanum fortunae”, that still preserved lot of ruins of its important past, the town was connected to the hinterland villages, like Fossombrone and Calmazzo, trought the Flaminia road, that is still used as important way of connection.
The villages are placed inside the Natural reserve “Gola del Furlo” famous for the impressive “Marmitte dei giananti” , big stones on the river “Candigliano”, a unique geological formation and unique phenomenon in Central Italy. The itinerary offer emotional landscapes and curvy roads for motorbike lovers too, Gola del Furlo area is well known among motorcyclists that love to drive through its roads, through the ancient Roman gallery coming from the 76 A.D. , to reach San Vincenzo al Furlo Abbey, where you can taste a delicious “piadina”.
